ASMS 2025 Early Career Researcher Travel Awards — Call for Applications
The Hispanic and LatinX in Mass Spectrometry interest group is excited to announce the 2025 Early Career Researcher Travel Awards sponsored by Agilent Technologies and Thermo Fischer Scientific! Each award provides up to $2,000 USD to help offset travel costs for the 2025 American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS) Conference in Baltimore. These awards are intended to reduce financial barriers for early career researchers, including students, trainees, and those within five years of completing their last degree, who are actively building their careers in mass spectrometry.

Eligibility
- Open to all early career researchers attending the 2025 ASMS conference (US-based or international) who are members of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry.
- Early career researchers are defined as students, trainees and researchers within a maximum of 5 years post their terminal degree.
- Must be registered and present a poster or a talk at the 2025 ASMS Conference.
- Awardees are required to attend the Hispanic and Latinx networking session at the conference on Tuesday, June 6th.
- Multiple applicants from the same research group may apply, but only one award will be granted per research group.

- A brief statement (max 250 words) explaining how the award would support your scientific and professional development. You may wish to describe how attending ASMS fits into your current career stage, how it aligns with your research goals, and what opportunities (scientific, networking, or otherwise) this funding would help make possible.
Additional notes for applicants
- Awardees are required to attend the Hispanics and Latinx in MS Networking Session at the ASMS Conference during the poster session on Tuesday, June 6th.
- Awardees may be invited to give a brief presentation (<10 minutes) at the Networking Session.
- Applicants will be asked to consent to the use of their name and photo in promotional materials and on social media (e.g., X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, website).
- Awardees must provide a headshot and short bio for use in our newsletter and social media.
- Awardees are encouraged to share their participation on social media, acknowledging the Hispanic and Latinx in MS group.
- Contact information may be shared with sponsors. You can opt out of this during the application process.
Review Process
Applications will be assessed by the Executive Awards Committee. Any committee member with a conflict of interest will recuse themselves from the review of the relevant application.
Payment of Award
Award funds will be issued after the ASMS conference concludes. Recipients should plan to cover their expenses upfront. The disbursement process may take several weeks, depending on administrative processing times. The executive committee will coordinate directly with awardees regarding payment details.
